Fun and active,  with long stretches of public beach access and plenty of dining and live music​ - Anna Maria is all of these things and more!  AMI may have the most public access and public parking of all our barrier islands, but you can also access all of the island's beaches via the FREE trolley that travels the length of the island from 6am-10:30pm daily.

  • Palma Sola Causeway - On Manatee Avenue between the mainland and Perico Island, Palma Sola Causeway is on Palma Sola Bay, with beach on both sides of the road.  Food trucks, water sport rentals, picnic pavilions, and horse surfing offer a unique experience.  Roadside parking.  No lifeguards or public facilities.  (Not actually on Anna Maria Island.)  Palma Sola Causeway, Boat Ramp

  • Bean Point - Accessible via limited street parking, at the northwest tip of AMI, Bean Point Beach has phenomenal views of the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay, all the way to Egmont Key National Wildlife Refuge to the north and beyond the Skyway Bridge to the east.  Small and secluded.  No lifeguards or public facilities.  855 North Shore Drive, Anna Maria, FL

  • Anna Maria Beach - A quiet gem, Anna Maria Beach is a wide band of sand extending from Spring Street up to the north end of the island.  A small parking lot is available at Spring Street and is free.  The remaining parking is along the street and requires arriving early on the weekends.  No lifeguards or public facilities.

  • Holmes Beach - In the city of Holmes Beach, from  approximately 58th Street to 81st.  Quiet and private, Holmes Beach is accessible via residential streets.  No lifeguards or public facilities.

  • Manatee Beach- At the end of Manatee Avenue and extending north and south for several blocks, the main part of Manatee Beach has plenty of free parking, concessions, restrooms, and lifeguards. 

  • Bradenton Beach​ - Running from south of Cortez Road to 25th Street N, Bradenton Beach has easy access to restaurants, ice cream shops, and charming boutiques.  There is some tree shaded parking along Gulf Drive and limted parking on the side streets feeding into Gulf Drive.  No lifeguards or public facilities.

  • Cortez Beach - Located from approximately Cortez Road and south to 13th Street South, Cortez Beach features a narrow strip of dunes, Australian pines, and sea grapes between the beach and the shaded roadside parking.  No lifeguards or public facilities.

  • ​Coquina Beach - The southernmost beach on AMI, Coquina Beach is a wide swath of white sand and has lots of free shady parking, lifeguards, restrooms, and a playground.  It often  It often host to arts and crafts fairs and other fun events.  Across the street is Leffis Key with paths through the mangroves and a public boat launch.​​
