Real estate is one of the most exciting investments one can make, and it should be a fun and rewarding experience. I grew up on Siesta Key in Sarasota. Crescent Beach was my back yard. I am a 2nd generation real estate broker, past president of the Sarasota Association of Realtors and a Former Realtor of the Year. I have a bachelor's degree in English Journalism and Education. Before entering the real estate profession I was a teacher, a carpenter, and did general construction work. I am a trained mediator for the Sarasota Association of Realtors and have taken and continue to take many continuing education courses in the past 32+ years. From time to time I have been an instructor of real estate courses. I now teach the Code of Ethics at the Association several times a year and currently serve on the professional standards committee and the Realtor/Attorney Committee. I have received the Prudential Real Estate "Legend" award for consistently being a top producer in the industry. I have also received the Prudential's Chairman's Circle Gold Award, President's Circle and Mega Million Dollar Producer Awards. I am proudest, though, of the Realtor of the Year award from the Sarasota Association of Realtors for my many years of service to the community and the profession.
I specialize in residential real estate of all types. I know the waterfront, personally having boated and fished the local waters all my life, from Longboat Key to the Venice Inlet. Multi-million dollar sales are not uncommon to me, nor are affordable mainland homes and acreage properties to the east. Owners and investors are both important aspects to my business. I have consistently been rated among the top 3% of Prudential real estate agents in the US.
Few agents know Siesta Key better than I do. Hundreds of homes and condos now stand where my boyhood paper route once spanned. However, I also know the mainland. I began my real estate career back in 1976, selling five acre homesites in Myakka Valley and Saddle Creek, 10 miles east of the coast. Over the past years I have sold well over 1,000 houses and condos from Venice to Bradenton and from the islands to the inland areas.
My wife Patty is also a real estate agent and native Sarasotan. Leslie Smith has been our assistant for over 10 years. Together we form a multi-talented team with the sole purpose of serving our clients. We strive for pleasant and successful transactions and satisfied customers.
